It all started with a sex tape. Kim Kardashian and Ray J put together a little film where she mostly lies on her stomach and he makes love to her from behind. Somehow it all got released – shocking! – and instead of it ruining her it managed to make her one of the biggest reality television stars on the face of the planet.

Thanks to the canny management skills of her mother Kris Jenner the whole family is now quite famous and last year they made more than $65 million, which is a stunning sum.

They basically prop up the ratings of the E! network with four shows on the air throughout the year. Kim, the most famous of the family, makes $100,000 to $250,000 for personal appearances, which is staggering. The other girls are pulling in pretty good numbers as well and they will no doubt get more famous as their reality shows continue to run and garner new fans. It’s quite the life they’ve put together. They also bring in lots of money from endorsing all kinds of products. It’s a huge family business and they have no intention of slowing down so get ready for lots more of the Kardashians in the future.
