According to Deadline.com Tom Cruise has signed on for the fifth blockbuster action movie Mission: Impossible. The actor will reprise his role as secret agent Ethan Hunt and Oscar-winning filmmaker Christopher MCQuarrie will direct the project. Cruise and MCQuarrie have worked together on Jack Reacher and Valkyrie so they are joining forces once again.

In 2011 the fourth movie of the franchise Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol was very successful at the box office, earning more than $600 million and back then Cruise said he wanted to make another sequel. He said: “I’ll make as many as people want to see, because they’re very challenging and so much fun to make.”
