When they are not working or attending some red carpet event, stars actually enjoy some simple fun activities, just like common people. One such activity is playing video games and you’d be surprised to know how many celebrities are passionate gamers. Here are some famous people who really love their games.
Rosario Dawson
Dawson is an avid gamer, attending Comic-Con events in full masked costume so she would go unnoticed. She has also voiced a character in “Syndicate,” later winning the Gamer’s Choice “Breakthrough Performance” Award at the Spike TV VGA’s in 2006.
Robin Williams
Williams loves PC games, having named the critically acclaimed title Half-Life 2 as one of his all-time favorites. He’s also particularly fascinated by the online multiplayer component of titles such as WarCraft and the World War II-era shooter Day of Defeat. Discussing his hobby, Williams said he finds the nature of online gaming “amazing,” and that “It’s a world. It has its own mythology.” Williams was also invited to the 2006 E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) demonstration for Will Wright’s evolution simulator Spore. The actor also admitted he named his daughter after the titular character of Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda series.
Christina Aguilera
Christina Aguilera is not only a major Nintendo fangirl, but describes herself as being permanently addicted to any game featuring the famous plumber Mario. “My sister and I have Mario Party battles and I can’t wait for more Mario,” Aguilera confessed during Nintendo’s Hollywood & Highland Gala Event in October 2002 for its Limited Edition Platinum GameCube. “If we were princesses we would totally invite Mario and Luigi to a picnic,” she added.
Megan Fox
In an interview with What They Play, the Transformers actress claimed that she would play “anything Mortal Kombat. I have that down and I don’t cheat. That game just works well with my brain. The way my brain fires signals works well with how that game works. And I’m just really good.” Speaking to Collider in 2012, when asked about the last video game she played, Megan replied: “Halo. You can ask my husband that question independently of me if he is out there. I have a complete addiction to that game. It is sick. I have Halo: Reach, but I am playing online. I don’t really play in story mode anymore. Other players have no idea they are playing with me. They make fun of my gamer tag too because it is funny. And they are all a bunch of guys and it is clear that I am a girl so they make fun of my name, and they have no idea they are making fun of me.”
Vin Diesel
This action star is a total nerd when it comes to gaming. He has admitted that he’s a gamer and he absolutely loves Dungeons and Dragons. He’s such a lover of video games that he owns his own company, Tigon Studio, that makes video games which star himself as the main character.
Mila Kunis
Mila Kunis has indulged in gaming quite heavily, to the point that it turned into a minor addiction. On an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, she admitted she had played the massively multiplayer online game World of Warcraft. The actress is also a huge fan of Call of Duty. The game, Mila says, “with the Nazi zombies, that, to me, is really fun. You finish ‘Call of Duty’ first person, okay? You unlock this little game and your whole purpose is just to kill these Nazi zombies. You have to board up the windows. And I’m not necessarily good at it. It’s just fun.”
Samuel L. Jackson
Samuel is a passionate gamer and he has played some very influential roles in video games as a voice actor, such as Officer Frank Tenpenny in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (Rockstar / 2004), Nick Fury in Iron Man 2 (Sega / 2010) or Mace Windu in LEGO Star Wars III (Traveller’s Tales / 2011). During an interview with Access Hollywood, Jackson talked about his enthusiasm for games like Assassin’s Creed, or really any first-person-shooter. “I want to play shooting games. I need to get more first-person-shooters,” he said. “I don’t mind doing that – sitting at home – I’ll sit at home and throw down with guns in front of the TV all day long! Give me a gun and I am all over it. I have total enthusiasm for all these games.”
Seth Rogen
Seth Rogen doesn’t hide his love for interactive video games and his favorite is PlayChoice 10. “The PlayChoice-10 in my house, which is like a stand-up Nintendo arcade machine, has 10 classic games like Contra, ExciteBike, Rush’n Attack, Double Dribble and the original Mario Bros. When I have a party, no one is playing Wii or PlayStation or Xbox. There’s always a line of people waiting to play the PlayChoice-10. So it just goes to show you can’t beat the classics,” the actor explained.
Olivia Munn
This Hollywood beauty loves cartoons, drinks beer and adores video games. She recently tweeted an image of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 playing on her projection screen. She also plays Rock Band, describing her ideal night as “a case of Pabst Blue Ribbon and playing some ‘Guitar Hero’ until three in the morning.”
