A ction star Vin Diesel has taken the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to a whole new level.

After Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn challenged him, the actor accepted it but also used the attention to start new environment campaign. Diesel has encouraged people to plant a tree in honor of his character Groot.

In a video posted on Instagram.com, Vin says, “Yes I accept the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, but I raise you – plant a tree for Groot.”

He later posted a photo of himself planting a tree.

Gunn accepted the challenge and planted a magnolia tree in his backyard.
