Apparently Haiti is still a pretty rough place to spend time. Wyclef Jean was shot in the hand while down in the country supporting a musician friend. As you all know, the country was recently destroyed by a powerful earthquake that left the capital in ruins and inspired billions in donations from around the world. It’s tough to rebuild a country with as poor a foundation as Haiti though and there’s been widespread sickness. Jean was going to run for president after the quake but the residency required forbid him from doing so.

Details are still sketchy on what went down. All that’s known for sure is that he was shot in the hand and rushed to the hospital where the wound was treated. Apparently it was quite minor and he’s expected to make a full recovery. The wound was described as superficial by his publicist and there’s no reason to be worried, if you were. He was shot after 11pm in Delmas, a town outside the capital city of Port-au-Prince. The medical facilities aren’t great in Haiti but they can certainly handle a mere flesh wound and he’ll be back on the streets in no time.
