Zoe Saldana is believed to be expecting twins with her husband Marco Perego and she will raise her kids the same way her parents raised her. However, she will be less strict than her mother.
Speaking to Sunday Telegraph, the actress said: ”I think it’s inevitable that we end up like our parents. I hope that I inherit the good things and not the things that I could have lived without as a child.
”There are things about my mom that obviously I have to raise my children with, but there are also things about our Latino culture – that ancient traditionalism – that we’ll never do to our children.
”That thing about, ‘You’re not friends with your kids, kids should fear you.’ Your daughter needs to call you a friend. It’s not the military, you’re not training soldiers to send off to the f**king war.”
Zoe’s father died when she was only nine, so she is very close to her mother even though she drives her crazy sometimes.
She said: ”My mother starts every other sentence with, ‘You know what you need to do…’ Like 70 times a day. And I’m like, ‘What do I need to do?’ She asked me not to play Bjork in the car, then the TV is too loud then, ‘Did you turn off the stove?’ ”
