Zoe Saldana’s kids will be multilingual

"Star Trek" - Madrid Photocall Speaking to Cosmopolitan for Latinas, Zoe Saldana, who is believed to be expecting twins, said she and her husband want their kids to be multilingual.

Zoe herself speaks French, English and Spanish and will do her best to learn her kids the same.

She said: ”Of course our children will speak the languages that we speak; my sisters and I grew up learning French and speaking English and Spanish, and because of that, we’re able to understand Italian and Portuguese. But I’m going to have to make a conscious effort to speak Spanish to my children, because I speak Spanglish.”

Zoe’s father is from the Dominican Republic and mother is Costa Rican and the actress is very proud of her Latina roots.

zoe”It’s one of the biggest factors about me: the fire, the passion, the ‘in your face’ quality,” she explained. ”I’m not going to say, ‘Whatever you want, whatever you say.’ I’ll say, ‘You know what I think? I feel this.’ ”

The 36-year-old beauty married Marco Perego last June and, with the babies on the way, they couldn’t be happier.

Speaking about previous relationships and what she liked in men, Saldana said: ”A man who has a natural respect for women – I don’t want a man who worships me: Stay away from those. I like men who work with women, are challenged by women, learn from women.”
