What is MagWeb.com?
Our award-winning on-line archive holds the text and graphics of 161 magazines, newsletters, and other publications. This includes back issues, current issues, and "bonus" original material not seen anywhere else. We cover battles, weapons, campaigns, commanders, uniforms, TO&Es, orders of battle, strategy, tactics, bibliographies, memoirs, battlefield tours, and all things related to such history.
Also, you'll find information and reviews of books, games, videos, music, miniature figures, toy soldiers, and other products bringing military history to your armchair, tabletop, or computer screen. And there's plenty of "how-to" articles designed to turn what you see on TV or what you read in a book or magazine into three-dimentional, interactive studies of battles and campaigns for you and your family. They're interesting, educational, inspiring, and a lot of fun, too.
We opened for business in 1996 with only 8 magazines and a couple hundred articles. We've grown quite a bit: now 162 magazines and 60,000+ articles. We've been featured on The History Channel, ABC, NBC, Fox, and lots of cable TV and radio shows, Fortune, Entrepreneur, MIN, and other on-line sites, and publications such as USA Today, NY Times, and a plethora of business and consumer magazines, newspapers, and newsletters.
What Do We Do?
We convert the paper issues into electronic files, then place these files in our archive database.
At right, original article on top; MagWeb.com version at bottom.
We post 25 issues per month on average, with hundreds of articles so you always get more information and never get bored. Over a half million hyperlinks interconnect our 60,000+ articles, and there's a multitude of search techniques to find what you want.
We do not sell subscriptions or back issues -- only access to our growing archive. To give you an idea, click on Free Sample Articles to download about 100 articles. You'll get the idea real fast, and you'll be able to see our variety, our format, and how fast the articles download.
Think of it this way: instead of getting just one or two magazine issues a month, by becoming a MagWeb.com member, you get 25+ issues a month, and the price is about 16 cents an issue!
All articles are in electronic format, so you can quickly copy and paste the information in reports, research, and other projects. The URL serves as the bibliographic reference. That'll save you a ton of time!
How Do You Use MagWeb.com?
Once you Join MagWeb.com, you get a username and password that allows you to enter the archive and use it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. One low price -- as little as $29 -- allows you access to ALL the magazines and articles within our archive. You never pay per-article or per-issue fees...ever. You can read, print out, or download to your hard drive any or all articles, 24x7, for the length of your membership. We have members who log in daily for their lunchtime reading, and others that log in once a month for a marathon 5-hour session. It's up to you and your schedule.
What's more, there are NO ADVERTS embedded in the articles. No banner ads, no pop-up ads, no skyscraper ads...no adverts, period!
For more information, see MagWeb.com Q & A (FAQ)...it'll answer your questions. If you need more, e-mail us at: support@magweb.com
