They say: "Always a bridesmaid, never the bride". But some girls are really ok with that. Typical example for that is Jane (Katherine Heigl). Since she was a little girl, she knew what her true calling in life is- to be a bridesmaid. She is capable of doing everything that a bride can need- from ordering the food from the caterer, to trying the cake, to making the whole theme for the wedding, along with dresses, accessories and everything else. She is a walking and talking planner. She has been a bridesmaid for 27 times and has enjoyed in doing that. She simply can't say no to her friends. And there is one more thing- she is over her head in love with her boss, George (Edward Burns), who is, unfortunately falling in love with her younger sister Tess (Malin Akerman). As she knows her sister a bit too well, she is more than aggravated that she is using her manipulative skills to get George to marry her. Somewhere along the way, at one of the weddings, Jane happens to meet a young reporter called Kevin (James Marsden) and gets his attention more than she wanted to. As the story goes on, we see Kevin trying to get her to tell her story and plans to use it to save his job, before his boss fires him. And since the story wasn't done in time, his boss read the article and printed it before he could change the facts he wrote, because he fell in love with Jane in the meantime and realized how great she was.
