There's no better story to tell, than the one that is true. And one of those is exactly about Jackie Robinson, one of the first African American baseball players and his struggle to get his place under the sun. The vital was, it wasn't only for him, but for everyone that was coloured at that time. Year is 1946, the time when the black people had not so much rights in America. And Jackie Robinson was one of the greatest baseball players at that time. And he was also black. Jackie was a young boy when his father left him and his mother and he didn't remember him. He was determined not to let his son survive the same destiny. Branch Rickey was on the position of the Major League executive and he had a pretty bald idea in his mind. With hiring Jackie as the first African American Major League player, he crossed an unspoken and unwritten line between white and coloured people. And from the beginning they were both sure of it, that this will be a major challenge, professional as well as personal, and it referred to both of them, Jackie and Branch. As it was expected, the whole team and even more people were eager to get him out of that world, but as he said: "I'm not going anywhere, I'm right here". When he asked his coach Branch if he wanted someone who doesn't have the guts to fight back, and the coach answered: "No, I want a player who has the guts not to fight back". It was all about reactions and provocations, but he made it big time.
