A Little Closer is a movie both written and directed by Matthew Petock. He made sure to get his vision come true, and in the way he wanted it as well. Main characters of his story are Sheryl, a young looking mom and her two boys, fifteen year old Marc and eleven year old Stephen. The three of them are living in the rural place in Virginia. As Sheryl has a lot on her mind, she is always worried for her boys. Raising the boys and doing a job of a housekeeper isn't easy. But, here and there she finds some time to go out, find a party and meet someone new, hoping that she'll find a decent man and father for her two boys at one point. Marc, who is fifteen, is in the age when his hormones are going wild and the only thing he thinks about is losing his virginity. So, he spends the most of his free time fixing up the car. His brother, Steven, who is eleven, is just entering the world of sexuality and is having fantasies about his school teacher. This 72 minutes long drama has very little action and it shows a simple life of a mom, a single parent and her two boys, who are growing up fast and getting to know the world.
