Back in a day New York was tough place to be. Underneath glamour and regular pictures that are presented crime scene was much more interesting. Tjardus Greidanus wrote interesting story about young gang leader while he crossed path with serious gangsters. This was happening in New York back in 1957. Spider (Escher Holloway) is young and not so bright leader of gang. His gang is made of young punks with no sense of consequences. This gang made plan to steal a gun from empty apartment. This supposed to be easy job and it was. But they got more then they hoped to steal. They found loads of money and took it without thinking twice. Apartment belonged to notorious Casket Mike(Eric Roberts) who is not going to give up on money. After robbery Spider gets severally beat up by some local punks trying to attack cute girl Tamara (Rachel Brosnahan). Because he almost died for her, she takes him to her hide out. It turns out that she is relative of long forgotten mobster Didi (Jack Donner). If you think that this interesting you should watch entire movie because Big Didi and Casket Mike have some unfinished business. With budget low like this A New York Heartbeat is doing great job keeping us thrilled. Little bit of drama and romance wrapped in nice thrilling story can’t hurt anyone.
