Based on the real historical event in Russia, here comes an animated movie that tells the story about the downfall of the once powerful Russian Empire and Tsar Nikolai II. After the evil Rasputin cursed the whole Empire, things weren't going too well for the Romanov's. The people begun to rebel and as soon as things started to get out of hand, the entire family was on the run. But, with one exception- young Anastasia was unfortunately left behind as she didn't manage to get on the train in movement. So, years later, we see a young girl from the orphanage house, who is always with her head high, inspite of having nothing but the rugs she is wearing. As she dreams of something greater and has these strange dreams about a big ballroom and fancy dresses, but has no idea what that is all about or where does that come from, she is considered a light headed dreamer. At one point, she meets a guy in Moscow named Dimitri and his friend Vladimir. These two are con men who are trying to get their hands on the riches that the Dowager Empress Marie has offered to anyone who finds and brings her granddaughter Anastasia back to her. The only problem is, the real Anastasia has lost her memory and doesn't remember her life with her grandmother. But, as two conmen notice the similarity between young Anastasia on the paintings and this teenage girl, they decide to give it a shot. What really turns out in the end will surprise them all.
