Arbitrage is a thriller that was both written and directed by one single man with a vision- Nicholas Jarecki. This movies plot is incredibly simple in the core, but out of it, there is so much going on. At the very beginning we meet Robert Miller, who is a hedge fund manager, who is trying to get his competition out of the way and secure himself a big deal. And what no one except him and his accountant knew, is that he cooked the books and by that committed a fraud, only to hide his catastrophic investment in a Russian copper operation that had gone terribly wrong. And what this big deal will do, is get him enough money to cover up for everything and make him a multimillionaire in retirement. At that point, there is something horrific about to happen, that will destroy both his career and his personal life. After getting into a car accident with his younger lover, Robert flees the crime scene and the car burns, making him a murderer. Knowing that, Robert is doing everything he can to cover things up, but as the police and detectives investigate the case it seem like he has no shot. The world where power is an alibi is his land, but will he make it and manage to deceive the police?
