If you liked watching TV shows like "The Charmed", you'll love this movie. It was directed by Richard LaGravenese, who was also one of the screenplay writers. He made witches and magic closer to the human world and yet even closer to the magic world at the same time, than anyone before. Our story begins in Gatlin, South Carolina, where we get to know one of the main characters, a young boy called Ethan Wate. He is played by Alden Ehrenreich. At one point he meets a new girl in his class, Lena, and starts dreaming about her, but as if they were in totally different century. That starts his obsession to meet this girl from his dreams, although the rest of his class and the town as well rejects her, because of being Macon Ravenwood's granddaughter. That man was considered the devil worshipper and follower by the rest of the community. As he gets to know her, bit by bit, Ethan slowly falls in love with her.. and she with him as well. After a long consideration, she reveals her dark secret to him, telling him that she is a witch and that she has only limited time until she'll be claimed for evil or good. Unfamiliar with their ways, Ethan doesn't meddle a lot, but refuses to leave her as well. On the day when Lena is about to see her future nature, a lot of things are about to happen to both of them.
