I have watched “Beyond the Blackboard” a couple of times now and each time it has proved to be an enjoyable time spending.
While films about inspirational teachers getting the best out of wayward children are very common what makes this one stand out from the rest is the heart and strength of the script. It goes against the normal stereotyping and this makes “Beyond the Blackboard” a better movie.
The best results are achieved by the fact that Emily Van Camp gives a great performance as Stacey and is supported by some good acting skills from the young actors playing her pupils. I would rate it an above average TV movie.
