Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain is a movie based on real life events, a catastrophe which has happened in the December of the year 1984. Chemical spill in India claimed over 10,000 lives and injured more than 100,000 people, it was the biggest chemical catastrophe in the world, and even today it causes lots of trouble to the people living in those parts of India. The story in the movie revolves around a rickshaw driver Dilip who manages to find a better payed job at the Union Carbide plant. One of Dilip's friend, Motwani is well aware of the fact that the residents of Bhopal complain of the constant, pungent stench in the air and that they wake up during the evenings choking from the gas. Motwani meets up with an American journalist Eva, played by gorgeous Mischa Barton, and together with her he tries to confront the Carbide executive. The rest is history, and the way in which the movie shows how the catastrophe influences the common man is moving and emotional. This movie is a reminder of how the biggest thing which the humans have to fear is the other humans.
