What is the movie Bowling for Columbine about?
Michael Moore decided to do something about the gun violence issue in America. He wanted to search it's roots since it is well known that a huge number of people is killed every year, apart from war and similar circumstances, He realizes, through his project that he could not explain such an easy use of guns in everyday life with availability of guns and national history that is quite violent, as well as poverty as an important element, since many other cultures have exactly the same characteristics, and yet, they do not share the same desire for killing each other. Through his project, he is trying to confront the political interests and business interests of the powerful society class and see where it takes him. Michael Moore is a narrator in his own historical documentary, and many well known names appear with him, one way or another, one of which is Marylin Manson. An interesting thing about this movie is that, after two years of trying to have an interview with Charlton Heston, he accidentally went near his home after buying a "Map tot he star's homes". The film received the standing ovation that lasted for 13 minutes, at Cannes Film festival and a special award was created for this movie, since it didn't fit standards of the festival.

I started watching this movie by accident as i found it during “surfing” the TV channels of my remote control. I could not get rid of the thought that no matter what channel i start watching the main idea of it still comes to the theme of war and various arms. My first thought was that i will not like this movie, and it will not be interesting to me, but it was a terrible mistake, and i am very glad to admit that.
I was shocked with the sincerity which is used during the development of the story that was described by Michael Moore, who is telling about the problems in his country. He honestly tells all of them, and i think that it deserves a lot of respect!
I recommend this documentary movie to all the people who are able to think! I can surely state that this movie deserves being watched! I am sure that any person who will watch this movie will not be disappointed by it at all! This movie in some of the moments made me cry, and i guess that this is the best compliment i can give to it.

It has been a very long time since the moment when i last saw such a interesting documentary movie that has nothing to do with nature or animals! This movie is a story about us, about people who have guns, about the laws of different countries that allow wearing guns. It is a interesting and dynamic movie that give a lot of important and curious information to its viewer about the curious laws in US, stories of the last years, about the explosions and static murders on the entire world!
During two hours there were told many stories, which accompanied the documentary with a lot of videos from the explosions that were filmed with hidden cameras. The statistics of the murders in different countries makes you think why do some countries rule in the world, and the other ones are always suffering because of those countries who dominate them! Personally i “opened” my eyes on a variety of things that all the time were in front of me but i was not paying attention to it.

It is Michael Moore and he is always above all of my expectations! It is a pity that such a joyful man has to film such cruel movies, especially considering the fact that they are about his Motherhood. This movie is a serious hit towards the myth about the American dream. It is amazing that every person in the world thinks that the grass is greener in here. That it is a sort of paradise there there are no guns, no corrupted police and where you can buy anything for a very low price.
I felt empathy when i saw how the criminals were put under arrest online. There were shown a lot of moments to prove that life is not easy even in America. And that it is always a must to work hard in order to achieve all the goals that you set, this is the essence of life, and the rest of it doesn’t really matter. I think the fact that this movie was made by Michael Moore has made it even more popular than it was awaited in the beginning.

This film is probably the best documentary Michael Moore ever did and the reasons are easy to understand. This was a very well written and it shows that he invested a lot of sentiment and time in this. It's great and even if you don't agree with his politics you should still be able to admire this great piece of work.

As relevant today as it was 12 years ago, Bowling For Columbine features Michael Moore addressing the subjects of firearms, race, fear and prejudice in a totally engaging documentary that never falls short and continues to surprise and educate even up to its bittersweet end. Participatory documentary at its finest.
