What is the movie Brave about?
“Brave” represents an upcoming computer-animated fantasy action-adventure movie, shot in 3D. Together with the ancient times, the legendary stories of epic battles and mysterious legends have been passed. However, “Brave” follows a new story of a brave Merida (acted by Kelly Macdonald), who disregards of being a daughter of King Fergus (played by Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (performed by Emma Thompson) in Highlands of Scotland, prefers to become a great archer. Wishing to choose her own way in life, Merida challenges the old tradition, sacred with awe by the lords of Scotland: Lord Machintosh (Craig Ferguson), Lord Dingwall (Robbie Coltrane) and Lord MacGuffin (Kevin Mckidd). Merida’s behavior unleashes a havoc, chaos and fury in kingdom, and causes the peril fall on her mother’s life. Merida has to fight with the forces of dark, magic, nature and ancient curse to bring things back to normal. Merida will have to discover what true brevity means and what it takes to undo the perilous curse fallen on her father’s kingdom.

An amusing, and message sending family fun.

The plot - involving a wicked witch, an endangered parent and a race to reverse a spell - is decidedly oxidized. Even the young girl's unruly mane is the color of rust. But the animation is pure state of the art.

I think that “Brave” is a very nice cartoon, as in the first place, it is not simply a cartoon, but a cartoon which is revealing many things about the medieval era, I cannot say I saw many things of this kind, but the good thing is that the subject line is so interesting that you cannot stop watching it. The other great thing I find about this cartoon, is that its heroes are equally interesting for adults and children, I guess it is a great thing, as most of all in this world my daughter enjoys seeing cartoons with me, and usually as soon as she sees I am bored, she stops watching it as well, I find this thing very adorable, and at the same time irritating, as this means I need to entertain her :).

I think it is the thirteenth of fourteenth full length cartoon movie made by Pixar, and I should say that their quality of cartoons is getting pretty close to the invisible Disney ones, and I am very happy about it, as the more competitive they will be, the higher will be the quality of their products, and what can be more important than that? I think the technical side of the cartoon is simply perfect, in fact I can add, that this is one of the best things I have ever seen in 3D, especially I enjoyed seeing the wandering blue eyes, which I had the strong wish to catch and hold in my palms, as well as Princess Merida’s red hair looked also very nice. So my mark to this cartoon would be a steady eight, or a very vulnerable nine, from one to ten scales.

Well this cartoon is one of the camera made family story, Pixar “magicians” are always trying to inflate their cartoons and whole subject line to some Hollywood standards, which is not very attractive, a cartoon is supposed to be fun, and easy to understand, as its main viewers are children, who will estimate it, not according to the variety of special effects, but according to its main line, and also let’s not forget that one of the main purposes of the cartoons is to bring some important information to a child without being to insistent or having the “teaching” voice, that is the reason why the child will easily get and follow the information given, while if chasing the Hollywood “special” stunts, it will not only look not real but also will not be interesting.
