When the wishes and tradition collide, there is lots of sparks and fire going on. That is the story in the life of Rajvinder Singh. Since he was 12 years old, he was crazy over hockey. He is a Canadian with an Indian background. Always in conflict with his father, Rajvinder Singh (Vinay Virmani) is more than determined to become a world famous hockey player. For that cause, he did everything- trimmed his hair, almost gave up his turban, left school and dedicated himself fully to the hockey. His father Darvesh (Anupam Kher) was absolutely displeased with that, and even angry. He had other plans for his son- working in the family business, carrying on the Sikh traditions and everything a young decent Sikh boy does. As Rajvinder and his other friends start practising, they often get laughed at from the other Canadian players. They are called names and humiliated, but they stuck to their cause. During that period, he works as a truck driver. After he meets a guy named Dan (Rob Lowe), who offers to coach them as a team, he comes across Dan's sister, Melissa (Camilla Belle) and falls in love with her. Soon they form their own team and rock the world. Will his parents approve of her, even if she's not Indian? Will they win the game as a newly formed team?
