Every girl has her own fears when it comes to finding a true love and the one she'll spend her life with. We all dedicate lots of attention to our looks, make up, dresses, hair colour, in order to maybe catch someone's attention. Bridget Jones (Renée Zellweger) is also troubled with all those problems. Besides that, she is struggling with her weight, her job and the lack of men to date with. At one point, she decides that she is going to change her life. She starts reinventing her life, goes to the gym, works out, quits smoking, and lots of stuff and writes that all down into her new diary. Soon after changing her attitude, she gets hit on at her work by her alcoholic boss, Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant) who is also a workaholic, and who is pretty superficial. At first she feels pretty awkward about it, but soon she discovers the pleasures of sleeping with a wild child kind of guy. Along the way, she also starts falling in love with a pretty eccentric acquaintance of hers, Mark Darcy (Colin Firth), who seems to like her as equally. With her head in clouds and experiencing these kinds of situations for the first time in her life, Bridget finds herself struggling between those two types of guys.
