What is the movie Broken about?
United Kingdom is well known in filming industry for dark comedy and twisted sense of humor. For change, the movie Broken breaks the rule and stays a pure drama, heavy and serious as a drama can be. Broken is based on a novel written by Daniel Clay. Mark O’Rowe did screenplay and Rufus Norris directed the movie. The most famous star of the movie is Tim Roth. We can see him in role of the concerned father. Rest of the crew managed to match up with Tim. Movie contains scenes of violence and it is disturbing because not all violence is physical but also emotional. Children are involved, which makes drama even heavier. Eleven year old girl Skunk (Eloise Laurence) witnesses a brutal and very violent event and after that everything changes. She is growing up and this violence opens many questions that her father Archie (Tim Roth) has to explain. Archie also struggles to protect his little daughter from the harsh reality. Series of violent events are going to leave huge impact on Skunk. In this story audience will see three families that are all dysfunctional in a different way. With all question asked, spectators are left make their own conclusions. Movie feels complete because of all small details that are incorporated. There are couple scenes capable of making us laugh. Impression that Broken leaves is strong and long lasting.
