We all love kids movies. They are fun, don't have so much violence and it's always with a lesson at the end of it all. This one is just like that. And one of the main characters is a ghost. Yeah, that's right. His name is Casper and he is a friendly ghost. The story starts off as when Dr. James Harvey (Bill Pullman) and his young teenage daughter Kathleen 'Kat' (Christina Ricci) move into the old house, which seems to be totally abandoned, but still, not as empty as they thought. Dr. Harvey is actually hired by the real house owner, Carrigan Crittenden (Cathy Moriarty). She is more than eager to burn the whole place down after she finds the hidden treasure, but is afraid of the ghosts in it, and Harvey is there to take care of them. Couple of days after moving in, three wicked ghosts Stretch, Fatso and Stinkie decide to give them a warm welcome and scare them out. But, that doesn't seem to be working the way they have planned. In the meantime, Casper gets to meet Kat and two of them become really good friends. On the other hand, Kat doesn't seem to be fitting into the new class in the new school, and there are local bullies after her, trying to make her look like a lunatic.
