Closer is a pretty unique movie that tells the story about two couples who start cheating on each other with each other after a man from one couple meets a woman from another one. Originally, this is a play written by Patrick Marber, but after a great success, it was adapted into a movie, which was directed by Mike Nichols. At the beginning the audience gets to meets Dan (Jude Law), who is a journalist and Alice (Natalie Portman), a total stranger. They see each other while crossing the street and as she gets hit by a car, Dan is the one who takes her to hospital. After that, they slowly start dating and soon end up together in a relationship. Then, we get to see another couple- lovely photographer Anna (Julia Roberts) who meets doctor Larry (Clive Owen) through an online chat service. As Anna gets to take a photo of Dan for his book cover, two of them cheat on their partners and they start both being indecisive about the person they want to be with. That drives both Alice and Larry away from them and the love rectangle gets formed as well as the most of the complications in their relations. Character development in this movie is amazing as well as the whole idea.
