Small generic towns in country side all look alike. Time goes slow and almost everything is predestined. People have their predictable lives and everyone has and knows his place in the community. Abe Levy and Silver Tree took town like that and place in it their story. They both directed movie. In the town the most influential man is Mayor Dick Cavanaugh. He and his family rule the town. Sheriff Bloom Towne (Ted Levine) is under control of the mayors family. Everything goes wrong when two brothers Nate Towne (Spencer Treat Clark) and Skylar Towne (Nick Eversman) go hunting dears. Accidently Nate, the older brother, shoots the mayor Dick and kills him instantly. Younger still minor Skylar takes blame on himself because he will be charged as minor. Up to this point movie is convincing and makes space for drama. Sheriff and father of two young brothers who shot mayor Dick is in very unpleasant situation. He finds himself between Cavanaugh family thirsty for revenge and his children. As a father he needs to protect them. As a Sheriff he has to obey the law. And there is his allegiance with the Cavanaugh family. Being young and foolish Nate causes series of the events that will eventually lead to human hunt in the forest. This is chance for brothers to survive and escape prison or to die in lawless hunt.
