What is the movie Dolphin Tale about?
The story of the movie focuses on a boy, named Sawyer Nelson (acted by Nathan Gamble) and a bottlenose dolphin that gets tangled into a crab trap and is seriously injured. Lonely and friendless Sawyer gets attached to the dolphin and after rescuing her, calls for assistance and follows her to the hospital. There the dolphin gets its name – Winter to follow the row of a successfully returned to the ocean dolphins called Summer and Autumn. Sawyer is allowed to visit Winter at Clear Marine Hospital, despite the lack of marine animal care skills, as Winter always responds well to Sawyer’s presence. Sawyer, who was previously enrolled in summer school, misses classes to spend time with Winter. These visits have a positive effect on both the dolphin and the boy; whose mood was improved and his mother didn’t see Sawyer that cheerful after his father abandoned him five years ago. Unfortunately, Winter’s tail cannot be operated as it is totally damaged and is amputated. Winter learns how to swim without a tail, but these side-to-side motions are fatal for her vertebrae. After visiting his cousin Kyle, whose right leg was amputated after being damaged in military, Sawyer comes up with the idea of a prosthetic tale to save his best friend’s life…
