Meet Olive. She is totally ordinary teenage girl. For the most of the time, she is totally invisible to the others at school. But, as the weekend passes, her friend Rhiannon wanting to hear every detail about a guy she made up and went on a made up date with, forces her to admit she lost her virginity to him as well. After a school Christian Mary hears that and spreads the false rumour, suddenly the whole school knows who Olive is. After trying to help a gay friend in need by lying that that they had a fling, Olive becomes a school slut in the eyes of the others, used and blackmailed as well. And throughout the movie we get to see how social pressure in school can make a person become a part of the pack (even if nothing is true). We also get to see how rumours spread, how far will some persons go to get the attention they need, and who are the ones that will be your friend in need. One of the most important themes in this movie is how society treats those who don't obey the unwritten laws. If you look at the acting crew- Emma Stone, Amanda Bynes, Lisa Kudrow, Stanley Tucci- you'll see that this actually is a teenage movie, but has so many comic moments in it that you can roll on the floor laughing with no problem.
