Movies that are focused on the events from wars aren't so popular. But, that doesn't make them any less interesting. If you have interest in real world heroes and you'd like to see and learn about their wild actions in the wars, here is one of those movies. The story is placed in the time of World War II, when the Germans were really close to invade Stalingrad. But, if they manage to do that, it would certainly mean the fall of the whole Russia, and the Russians can't allow that. As most of the soldiers are pretty much with the same skills and dealing the problems with the same attitude and knowledge, there is one man who is successfully destroying hopes and morale of the German troops with the help of his sniper gun. His name is Vassili Zaitsev (Jude Law). As the Russians also need some boost of morale, officer Danilov starts publishing all Zaitsev's accomplishments. But, as the publicity gets higher, Vassili doesn't feel like he can rise up to that level and meet all the expectations created by Danilov. As the war progresses, both of them fall in love with one of the female soldiers, Tanya (Rachel Weisz). And Germans, feeling threatened by skilled sniper, send one of their best men, Major König (Ed Harris) to take the Russian sniper down.
