Everyday is a drama starring Shirley Henderson, John Simm and Shaun Kirk. It is a story of a man named Ian who is imprisoned for an unspecified crime. Over a period of five years his wife, Karen and her four young children go on a long journey to visit him. Kids get into a fight in school over a taunt about their father, and Karen who is lonely, sleeps with a man from the pub where she works. Towards the end of his sentence, Ian is given a day out to spend it with his family but the allegation of drug smuggling puts him and his family at a risk. Everyday is a narrative driven story shot from the point of the mother, father and the children. Is has a cogent narrative structure, character development and interesting dialogs. There are even some humorous scenes. Acting is exceptional, everyone did a good job at portraying their characters. There is never a dull moment in this movie. The pacing might seem a bit slow at first, but it disappears as the movie goes on. Fans of movies which are mindful and lyrical will definitely find a lot to love about this movie. It doesn't mean that the other people can't enjoy the movie, as a matter of fact, everyone should see this movie for it is one of the better movies made in the last few years.
