From the director and writer Richard Bates Jr comes an outstanding horror movie called Excision. It was shown on Sydney Film Festival's 2012 and it was a success. It all revolves around a young 18 year old Pauline (Annalynne McCord). She is anything but your ordinary teen girl. With a poor posture, acne all over her face, poor social skills, and pretty uninterested in what others have to say about her, this young girl is like a anti-hero for school popularity. The only thing she is interested in is to be a doctor, a surgeon to be precise. Her dad Bob is a great businessman, but at home, his wife, Phyllis has the last word. The only person Pauline is interested in talking to is her sister Grace, who is suffering from cystic fibrosis. Throughout this movie we get to follow what exactly Pauline wants and doesn't want to do with her life. When her mother puts a pressure on her to go on cotillion, Pauline does everything to ruin it. But, on the other side, her determination to pursue a career in medicine makes her study about her sisters condition with no problem at all in the local library. Along the way, there are lots of scenes of her dreams- filled with blood, sex, disturbing and pretty sick overall. That's why this horror isn't your typical one, and why it is worth of watching.
