What is the movie Fantastic Mr. Fox about?
“Fantastic Mr. Fox”, director Wes Anderson’s first foray into the realm of animated pictures. Adapted from a children’s novel of the same name written by Roald Dahl, it tells the tale of a family of foxes and other animals fighting against evil farmers for a place to stay and a source of food. The film opens with Mr. Fox and his wife Felicity robbing a squab farm and getting caught in a trap. They manage to escape, but Felicity pleads with his husband to find a safer profession. Two years have passed (twelve in fox years), and Fox is working a s a newspaper columnist and lives with his wife and his moody young son Ash in a tree. Their young cousin Kristofferson comes to live with them after his father falls ill, which greatly accepts Ash who has to compete with him for his family’s affection. When Fox steals produce from the farms of three evil farmers, they decide to rid themselves of foxes. They set up an ambush near fox’s tree house and shoot at Fox when he appears, managing only to shoot off his tail. Fox leads his family and other animals in a project of building tunnels underneath the farms, but the farmers flood the tunnels with cider, leading the animals to move into the sewer. Meanwhile, the farmers have trapped Kristofferson and plan to use him to set up another trap for the animals, but fox has learned of this and he comes up with a counter plan that will embarrass the farmers and provide the animals with a new food source.
