They wrote the story with Greta to be leading role. Noah did directing. Frances Ha is one of those movies that is going to be great success and absolute disaster. It turned out to be very good movie. It is New York live sliced and served on the screen. New York as location offers a lot. In this concrete jungle story is following Frances(Greta Gerwing). Characters are believable. While capturing life of young women Noah and Greta they embedded questions about social issues and work. They reveal how cruel New York can be. Everything is filmed in black and white. Lack of colours together with all shooting locations creates illusion that story is authentic. Frances is cute and entertaining woman from New York. She has no apartment of her own. She has to deal with restrictions that life puts on her. Difficult choices have to be made. Frances makes choice and jumps in to unknown and uncertain future. In pursuit of her dream she starts apprenticing for a dance company even she is not a dancer. Greta manages to leaf audience by making wrong impressions on people she met. One quote describes this perfectly, "You look a lot older, but you seem far less mature". Impulsive Francis will do foolish things to prove that she is right. In her case the more she change thing the more they stay the same. You will either love Francesca or be disappointed.
