Back in 1985, Tom Holland directed a movie Fright Night according to a story that he wrote. Twenty six years after that, Craig Gillespie did a remake of that movie. Back in a day, idea behind the movie left stronger impression simply because we already had countless movies inspired with vampires. Story is straightforward and it doesn’t demand high attention. High school boy Charley Brewster (Anton Yelchin) lives with his mother and has good looking sweet blonde girlfriend. He has a nice life and gets involved occasionally in some funny situations. When new neighbour sets in house next to his, things will start to change. After a couple of missing kids from his school and couple weird experiences with new neighbour Jerry (Colin Farrell), Charley starts to pay attention to strange things. One night he decides to crash in to Jerry’s house. What he sees inside is hard for him to believe. He saw strangely redecorated house with prison cells where Jerry keeps his food. His favourite food are hot high school girls. Soon Jerry and Charley have serious talk with open cards, and after that it is up to Charlie to protect his mother and girlfriend. Movie is mix of action, horror and comedy. It is remake of relatively old movie, times have changed a lot and same things don’t have the same effect. Still Fright Night delivers the excitement, it makes audience laugh and it is enjoyable to watch.
