Linus, as always, cannot live without his security blanket. This blanket is with him in every moment of his life. So, he gets really uneasy and doesn’t know what to do when he finds out his grandmother is coming to visit theVan Pelt house and plans on getting rid of his favorite childish valuable security blue thing. As usually he dreads all her visits. The closer the grandma’s visit is coming; the more eager his friends become to help him to cope on his own, not depending on this old fuzzy crutch. Lucy, who hates this security blanket, is trying to cure Linus from his dependence with her own specially invented psychiatric techniques. Charlie Brown, who has a more neutral opinion of the blanket, doesn't care very much whether Linus will have this blanket or not, so he simply doesn’t notice the way Linus suffers when trying to live without his blanket. Snoopy, as usually, tries to take Linus's blanket by running up and trying to grab it out of his hand, thus attempting to get the security blanket for himself and this annoys Linus very much. With the development of the story an insight comes over Linus – everyone has his own ‘security blanket’ in the world. So, having a bit of security in life is a good thing!
