When movie comes from the United Kingdom, if it is drama, it has to be comedy, too. Sam Hoare wrote an interesting story and directed it. He took one thing that is almost taboo and incorporated it into the story. That one thing is infertility. It is dramatic thing not for individual but for his partner as well. Does the one love his partner so much, that it doesn’t matter, or he has bigger respect for desire to have children? That serious theme is covered with unremarkable life of unremarkable guy Jack (Andrew Buchan). He is fixing old arcade games and his probably the only friend is his boss. He has nothing to brag about. Father is pressing him to find job with better salary. After nine years of relationship he proposes his girlfriend Camille (Romola Gari). They both know that she can’t have children. All this little bit boring lives are going to change when Anna (Anna Friel) arrives. She was Jacks one night stand and she brought seven year old son with her. That promises lot of comic events and dialogues. Actors did great job giving to characters depth and sense of reality. They make characters develop on the screen. Which further makes audience care about them. Jack has to deal with mistakes he made long time ago. Story will explain how Jack looked before and how he changed while becoming an adult.
