Highway is a romantic drama about a young girl who drives down the highway with her fiance during the night. They have a wedding planed and it is coming up in four days, but her life suddenly changes. She is abducted by a group of criminals and that sets of many changes in her life. The kidnappers realize that she is a daughter of a wealthy and powerful industrialist who has many political connections and they start to panic. The leader of the gang wants to see the plan through. As the days in captivity slowly pass she starts to realize that she is changing, a strange bond develops between her and her captor. She starts to feel free in the captivity and she wishes that the journey she is on would never end, but it doesn't seem like that scenario is possible. The director did an amazing work, cinematography is gorgeous and the entire movie has sort of an ethereal feel to it. All of the actors are very talented and it shows. They do an amazing job at performing their roles and they seem to be really into it. Everything in this movie feels just right. Nothing seems to be out of the place and nothing seems to be added just for the sake of it. Highway is an enticing journey of self discovery and the audience is left to ponder about what freedom actually means. Definitely check this movie out, it is wonderful, intriguing and fun to watch.
