After the story with the world meltdown is finally done, it seems like the love has found its way to the hearts of various animal all over the world. Manny, Diego and Sid are still a pack of their own. A funny prehistoric squirrel Scrat meets a cute female sabre-toothed squirrel called Scratte and they instantly fall in love. Manny and Ellie are now a couple. Ellie is expecting, so Manny keeps himself busy with making a playground for the kids, his as well as the other ones. Sid is dreaming about a family of his own. As he wanders around he comes across three very large eggs and decides to adopt them. When he brings them to their place, Manny and Diego force him to take these eggs back, because they are dinosaurs. But, at the same moment, the eggs start hatching. Inspite all, Sid decides to keep them. Diego, on the other hand, is feeling pretty lousy as he is tired of being a house-cat type of animal, because there is no more need for hunting down. As Sid disappears at one point, Manny, followed by his faithful Ellie and Diego go on an adventure and a quest to find him, which leads them all to an under-ice world with lots of dangerous species that they haven't met before. There they also meet guy called one-eyed Buck, who helps them out.
