When you have in mind that Insidious was the product of minds that created Saw and Paranormal Activity, you know what to expect. Overall looked, this is the brainchild of James Wan, who directed the Paranormal Activity and writer Leigh Whannell, the maker of Saw movies. It all starts with a family Lambert buying a big old house that wasn't expensive and and moving in. Josh is dad and he is a teacher, while Renai, mom, writes songs. Their boy, Dalton, is a pretty normal and very curious kid. After sniffing around the house and on the attic, he falls off of the ladder and gets into a coma. As soon as they get him to hospital, all the tests are done and they show no brain damage as well as no brain injury at all. That makes young mother Renai start to question what is going on. Throughout the movie we see her frightened as she discovers that boxes are being moved around the house, doors and windows keep opening by themselves, she starts seeing creepy faces. Since Josh is always working late and is rarely home, Renai hires a psychic named Elise Rainier to tell them what it's all about. As she says in the movie: "It's not the house that's haunted. It's your son". She explains to them as well that their son is captured in a realm called The Further. This tense horror movie will make you sit on pins and needles, but if you are a true fan, you'll get through it all.
