Based on novels written by Anne Rice, a trilogy that deals with a "life" of a vampire named Lestat and the people he comes in contact with, comes yet another sequel called Interview with the vampire. With Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt in main roles this is one of the movies that can't go wrong no matter what the story is. It begins with a man giving an interview to a reporter (Christian Slater) in an unknown motel. It is all mysterious and dark, but the man starts his story. It deals with a plantation owner Louis de Pointe du Lac (Brad Pitt), who had lost his wife and a newborn child. They both died while his wife was giving birth and now he doesn't have much to live for. Then came Lestat de Lioncourt (Tom Cruise), who offered him a new and totally different life- by turning him into a vampire. As the time went by Louis was under the guidance of Lestat and had learned a lot, but couldn't shake the feeling that something is missing. At one point he saved a little girl Claudia (Kirsten Dunst) which was dying and turned her into a vampire. After trying to get rid of Lestat and couldn't find the way, Claudia and Louis made a plot to kill him and burn him. But, as that didn't help as well, two of them, along with their new pet, a young prostitute that Claudia turned into a vampire, were brought in front of the tribunal, which was led by Armand (Antonio Banderas).
