What is the movie John Carter about?
The movie is based on the novel “A Princess of Mars”. John Carter (acted by Taylor Kitsch), a Civil War veteran, is transported to Mars, known as ‘planet of Barsoom’ by local inhabitants. There he gets in captivity by 12 feet tall green aliens with long tusks and six limbs. With their planet going through the crisis, with oceans disappeared and thinned atmosphere, Martians have turned into a warlike barbarian race. So, no humans are welcomed. However, Carter befriends one of the green Martians, named Tars Tarkas (acted by Willem Dafoe) and rescues a red Martian princess, Deja Thoris (acted by Lynn Collins) from Tharks – a tribe of Green Martians. Very soon he gains respect of Barsoom’s inhabitants as he is a fearless warrior and Martians are amazed by his strength and fighting abilities…
