Several years after having to deal with the Illuminati and the key that can be used to control the time, Lara Croft, descendant of one of the richest families in Britain, passionate archaeologist, is embarking on yet another pretty dangerous mission. As she is investigating underground earthquakes in the waters by the Greece, she discovers a forgotten temple of Alexander the Great, in which she finds a mysterious orb, that can uncover the information about location of the mythical Pandora's Box. As it always happens, she is not the only one who is searching for that box, and there are more people wanting to get their hands on the orb. After she manages to decrypt the signs on the orb and gets the location, the orb gets taken by the evil scientist called Jonathan Reiss, who is looking to sell the box as an ultimate weapon. For this mission Lara knows she needs help and she recruits one of her former lovers and hardcore British marine with skills- Terry Sheridan (Gerard Butler). As two of them, as well as a part of her loyal crew, embark on the journey to recover the orb, at one point, Lara finds herself betrayed by Terry, which makes her question his love for her once again.
