From the brilliant mind of Elgin James, who is a writer and a first time director, comes a fantastic piece called Little Birds, that took him to the Sundance Film Festival. Coming from the streets of Boston, he chose to put some of his life experience into the main characters of his movie, two teen girls. Allison Huffman (Kay Panabaker) and Lily Hobart (Juno Temple) are two cute girls who live in a small and pretty poor city Salton Sea in California. Two of them grew up in poverty on the coastal town. The movie follows not only what they do- from hanging with each other, to stealing dad's truck in order to go out of town, to meeting older boys David (Chris Coy), Louis (Carolos Pena) and John (Kyle Gallner), who then lure these naive girls into a life they didn't actually want- but how they grow up and develop throughout the events they go through. This storyline gets enough tense and adventurous moments to keep anyone interested and captivated through the whole time. With excellent performances given by the whole acting crew, this movie is the closest to the real life events as possible. Besides them, there are Leslie Mann, Kate Bosworth, Neil McDonough and JR Bourne in the casting crew and they sure do their jobs phenomenal.
