What is the movie Locke about?
Ivan Locke has an ordinary quiet life. His main priority is his career consequently he puts his work above of everything else. In order to succeed in his field of activity he works hard – no weekends, no vacations, and no personal life. He’s got only work and it consumes all his free time as well as working hours. Tomorrow is one of the most important days in his life seeing as he expects to be promoted and achieve his main goals. In the evening before that significant day he leaves an important job in Birmingham and drives to London. On his way to London he settles his professional and personal problems on his mobile phone. Suddenly he receives several phone calls that drastically change his life. In order to survive he has to struggle with time, and he hasn’t got much of it – only 90 hours. The movie is set mostly in Lock’s car, and along his car journey we also witness a great character journey. We see how Ivan’s life turns upside down during the course of one car journey.

This movie shows that if a man has got something in his mind then there will be very difficult to turn him away, not tears, not threats and not scandals would be able to help. Locke - is a simple experiment. It is a difficult question, and it is not a fact that it will be easy to keep the attention of the viewers by showing an episode from life of a usual person. And in the matter if the place of action is closed, in a limited quantity of characters, there is nothing special about it, and something like this has already been done, and not once. What is so special about showing the story of a person who lost the job and work, i think there are millions of this kind. Well he will live alone, or he will find another job, but it was still a bit curious to see what will ever happen. I can easily suggest this movie to all the people who are looking for a simple movie, with no special plot, and if people would not feel sorry for those an hour and a half spent on it, and so on.

Most of all i liked the fact that Locke is a definite character, i cannot call him a positive hero, but at the same time i can't call him a negative one. He is the way he is, no matter what he does in his life, the most important thing is that he considers he does the right thing. I can say that he was more irritating me, than it was pleasant for me to watch him. I am sure i wouldn't be ever able to communicate or be friends with such a person, but i cannot not underline the fact that he does have positive qualities! Locke is a pedant, he does everything according to the rules, and in time while thinking a few times before doing something, and even if he does mistakes he is correcting them, the way he considers to be the right way, without stepping away from the difficulties. Usually people like him, are very boring, but it is easy to rely on them in the case of need, and it is a fact that they will not let you down in any kind of situation. So if making a general conclusion i would like to say that it is interesting to watch this movie and it is not a waste of time.

Tom Hardy makes a very compelling case that he could indeed make a spoken word interpretation of the white pages absolutely riveting viewing.
