James Franco is very well known for his comedy roles. He knows how to bring the audience to laugh, even to tears. This time, we get to see him in a totally different light. He gets to play a pretty serious role. Character he plays is called James and he was a successful actor. Fame and glory was everywhere he appeared. But, at one point, he started hearing voices in his head. That distracted him from his work and he simply lost it. He got fired and he moved back to his home town to live with his friends and his sister. After he came back home, he started writing. With his sister also having some mental problems, their neighbour and friend Catherine (Catherine Keener) tries to hold them together and with their feet on the ground as much as she can, giving them support and all the love they need. Sometimes James' voices lift his spirit up and sometimes they bring him down. And that all affects his place of living and the people around him in the town. With all the layers this movie contains, it will with certainty hold anyone's attention for its 96 minutes of duration. Unlike any other, this movie covers various problems that people often have with mental illnesses.
