Margaret is a coming-of-age story with a little twist. Story revolves around a seventeen year old girl called Lisa Cohen (Anna Paquin). She is an ordinary girl who is doing all the teenage stuff- cheating on her math test, flirting with her teacher, who is played by Matt Damon. As she comes back home, she leans over to say hi to a bus driver, distracts him as he's taking off, which causes him to hit a woman on the street. Couple moments after that, the lady dies in Lisa's hands. The next thing that happens is police officers talking to Lisa, as one of the best eye witnesses. At first she lies, in order to protect the bus driver, and feels guilty, because she considers herself partially responsible for the death of the lady. After a while, she gets so pressured by her own conscious, that she tries to make things right and send the bus driver to the prison. She sets off to meet the family members of the late woman, just to ease her mind. Suddenly, she realizes how short life is and her priorities change drastically. She even seduces her teacher and has ideas that are completely teenage-like. But, she is realizing lots of things along the way. Anna Paquin, the main heroine, delivers an amazing acting and makes her character come to life.
