If you ever got you hands on this video game, then you already know the whole story and what the movie is all about. The most famous combat game of all the times, Mortal Combat, made by Ed Boon and John Tobias, which were written by Kevin Droney, was adapted into a movie by director Paul W.S. Anderson. The plot tells the story about a fighting tournament that dates from an ancient time and which was held in different realms every time. Every time there is a very limited number of fighters who are chosen to represent their realm and who are allowed to fight on this tournament. The main goal is to win ten tournaments in order to take over the realm that lost. And for now, realm called Outworld had won nine combats against the Earth realm and is close to taking over. That is where Lord Rayden (Christopher Lambert) and his team jump in. And his team has the meanest fighters ever- Liu Kang (Robin Shou), Johnny Cage (Linden Ashby) and Sonya Blade (Bridgette Wilson-Sampras). Also, they get some help from the inside- a young princess Kitana (Talisa Soto), who wants things to remain as they are, since the current Lord of the Outworld has taken her world as well. And on these fights, human fighters get to encounter lots of different skilled fighters, such as Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Reptile, Kano and others.
