Meet Emily Chu. She is a New Zealand girl with a Chinese origin. With Chinese parents by her side, she was raised in such manner, that she can do anything if she sets her mind to it. But, does it really mean anything? Of course, her parents already have a plan for her to become a doctor, like her two older sisters, but Emily has something different in mind, and they aren't going to like it very much. While she was at college, Emily got to know a New Zealand guy, who has a European background. They fell in love and got married. But with her strict and conservative parents, who have can be very opinionated when it comes to interracial couples, she is forced to keep everything a secret. Soon this romance turns into a hilarious comedy, as you see Emily and her husband trying to live their own lives, but not get Emily disowned by her family. Balancing your personal life with your partner on the one side and your parents on the other one is no easy task. And that's exactly what Roseanne Liang had in mind when she participated in writing of this screenplay as well as in directing the movie. If you need a cute and fun movie to relax your mind after a hard working day and maybe get some laugh, this is one of the best ones to check out.
