Jack Kerouac was different breed of writers. His novel On the Road revels interesting part of his life and it is very important as piece of an American history. Story is placed in late forties and fifties, right after Second World War. Middle class was conservative and people that didn’t fit in had a problem to find company. Because of that, all different people with no inhibitions went crazy in company of folks that are alike. Way back in that period, life was totally different. Ways of communication were much simpler. Everything had to be experienced in first person. Walter Sales directed the movie based on Jose Rivera’s screenplay. They did a perfect job in presenting past in its raw form. In centre of the story is Sal Paradise whose life goes through change when open minded Dean Moriaty (Garrett Heudlund) and his girl Marylou (Kristen Stewart) meet him. This couple is mad enough to live their lives with breaks. Sal is going to join them and this wild trio goes on the road across America. Their seemingly pointless adventure will bring them many unforgettable situations. They will meet many other non formal free spirited people. With no desires to be common and live by social norms invented by others, these people do all sorts of crazy things. Some of them are harmless some are not so naive. Development of characters is interesting. Filming locations were placed in Quebec, Calgary, Mexico, Arizona, Louisiana, California, Argentina, and Chile. This makes movie very interesting to watch.
