20. Lots of people wonder what is passion all about. That's the main theme of this movie. How far will one person go to get what she/ he needs? Would that person kill or just humiliate? In the focus of this story are two girls, Christine Stanford (Rachel McAdams) and her young protégée Isabelle James ( Noomi Rapace). Christine is very dominant and always gets what she wants, no matter how. And Isabelle is still inexperienced and doesn't know how to play the game. At first it seems like Christine is willing to help her out with almost anything, but as the time goes by, it becomes more and more clear that she is only interested in using her. Also, as Isabelle spends more and more time with her mentor, she starts learning the rules as well how she should play the game. And at one point they find themselves on the opposite sides and as rivals. While Isabelle gets the attention of a guy who is handsome, Christine is no longer important and feels threatened. And that is exactly the point when she is capable of doing anything at all. And after taking care of her opponent, there is still a huge dilemma in the air- what would you do in her place? Both Rachel McAdams and Noomi Rapace gave amazing performances and really brought their characters to life with no problem at all. This is one of those movies that will make you think about your actions and your behavior, because it has a moral lesson in the end.
