Pawn is a thriller directed by David A. Armstrong and written by Jay Anthony White. It is a story of a man named Nick Davenport who is released from the prison in which he was for robbing a car. Nick has a scheduled encounter with his brother Patrick Davenport at the Be Brite diner. Police officer named Will comes to the diner but he notices that something is wrong and goes to the toilet. He contacts Lieutenant Barnes and tells him that a heist is taking place before the scheduled our. He then sees Nick hidden and tells him he had called the police. Suddenly, Will is shot in the head and Nick is brought to the diner where there is a hostage situation. British criminals are keeping the clients hostage and they have stolen a safe. When the negotiator arrives, the crooked cop Lieutenant Barnes tells him that Nick is the culprit. Nick becomes a pawn in a twisted and deceitful game from which there is no escape. Pawn might be a low budget movie, but it is done exceptionally well. The set up of the movie is good and it engages the viewers. The movie has many twists and turns which will keep the viewers guessing. The cast is strong and all of them put out a good performance. The script is good and it shows. Pawn might not be the best movie out there, but it is definitely one of the better thrillers available for watching.
